Originating Reverse Mortgages is often a heart wrenching reality.

I think back on the people that I have helped over the years in my Reverse Mortgage experience. Some of the people stand out to me more than others for various reasons. I was just remembering a lovely lady that really made me cry when she came to me asking if I could help her because her denture was broken and she needed to get new teeth. She didn’t have any other way to obtain this goal except for using the equity in her home. A lot of people frown on Reverse Mortgages because of an example like this. I went through a myriad of options with her and she had already tried everything. She was at her wits end. I looked at her overall situation by visiting with her at her home. She had several things that needed to be fixed around the home to make it to a standard that it would last her for the rest of her life. I knew that the only way this lady would be able to live the rest of her life in a comfortable situation would be to obtain a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (Reverse Mortgage). I drew up the illustration and showed her what she would be able to accomplish. She was ecstatic but also leery because she had so many false promises before. I assured her that I wouldn’t get her hopes up for no reason and not waste her time. I told her that I would help her. I went home and cried that night. There are so many seniors out there that don’t know that there is help for them. I have happier stories. They aren’t all sad. This is the one I thought of today.
